How often do you need to inject Mounjaro?
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is injected once a week, ideally on the same day each week, using a pre-filled pen for self-administration after training from a healthcare professional. The usual dosing schedule begins at 2.5mg once weekly for 4 weeks, then increases to 5mg once weekly. Further increases are made in 2.5mg steps every at least 4 weeks if needed, up to a maximum of 15mg once weekly.
If you miss a weekly dose, you can take it as soon as possible within 4 days. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose and resume on the next scheduled day. The weekly injection day can be changed if necessary, as long as there are at least 3 days between injections.
