What should you do if you miss a dose of Mounjaro?
If you miss a dose of Mounjaro (tirzepatide), you should take it as soon as possible within 4 days (96 hours) of the missed dose, then continue with your normal weekly schedule. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose and take your next injection on the usual scheduled day. You should never take two doses to make up for one missed dose. There must always be at least 3 days between injections if your schedule shifts. If you have missed two or more weeks of doses, speak to a UK healthcare professional such as a GP, pharmacist, or prescriber before restarting, as you may need to begin again on a lower dose to minimise side effects.
- Take the missed dose within 4 days (96 hours) if possible.
- If more than 4 days have passed, skip it and continue on your normal scheduled day.
- Do not take two doses at the same time to “catch up.”
- Leave at least 3 days between injections when adjusting back to schedule.
- If two or more weeks are missed, contact a UK healthcare professional before restarting.
